Sunday Worship January 19, 2025 11:00am EST
Sunday message from Pastor Sulkiro: So insidious was Nero’s imperial reign that rumors persisted years after his death that he was not truly gone—that he would return with an army from the East to take revenge on the Roman people.
On the day that we observe Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy of racial justice rooted in Christian principles of loving God and loving one’s neighbors, the U.S. empire will re-inaugurate Donald J. Trump, who has promised to unleash Christofascist policies.
On the Sunday before MLK Day and Inauguration Day, we will gather as a people of faith to think about the Kin-dom of God and the counter-Christ, counter-kingdoms that idolizes might and power over love, justice, and liberation.
Scripture: Luke 4:16-27 (A Women’s Lectionary)
