Welcome to HA:N United Methodist Church

We are a church that welcomes those who embrace their queerness, and those who stand as allies in solidarity. Here, we encourage one another to embody Jesus’ call to love and bring about our collective liberation from oppression and injustice. We invite you to join us and add your voice to our community.

We are currently a virtual church with members from the NY/NJ area and all around the US (from WA to VA and in-between) and the globe (Vancouver, Netherlands and sometimes even Korea). We worship together virtually and augment with in-person gatherings.

Our Story

Directed by Peter Lee, Edited by AJ Valente, Original Music by Peter Johnson

Progressive and Engaged

We believe that being a Christian encompasses more than salvation. We believe in the radical love of Jesus who fought for the marginalized and oppressed and embrace social justice work in our community.

Welcoming to All

HA:N United Methodist Church is a multi-ethnic and LGBTQIA celebrating church. It was originally founded by a small group of lay Korean American Christians looking for an alternative to evangelical and conservative theology.

Join us for worship and fellowship

We hold an interactive Zoom worship each Sunday at 11:00 am EST/EDT. We “un-mute” and have a call and response, we even break bread together via a virtual communion.

If you are a first-time visitor and would like to attend any of our services, please register in order to receive access to our zoom link.

Monthly In Person Gatherings

We also have in-person gatherings about once a month in the NY area and a retreat about once a year for our distant members to gather.
